Community Land Trust

Everground is building Canada’s
community land trust movement.

"Add community, protected forever."

Starting in Edmonton, scaling to every city where homeownership has become a generational impossibility.

What We Are

Treaty 6 territory.
Edmonton Foundations.

Everground Community Land Trust is an incorporated non-profit organization on Treaty 6 territory in Edmonton, Alberta. We are building Edmonton's first community land trust (CLT) — a proven model that permanently removes land from the speculative market.

Unlike traditional affordable housing that loses its affordability over time, land held by Everground stays affordable forever. Resale prices are controlled by covenant, ensuring each generation of residents pays below-market rates.

Permanent Affordability

The trust owns the land, the resident owns the home. This decoupling removes speculative pressure and preserves value for the next family.

Homeownership Accessibility

Making ownership a reality for low- and moderate-income Edmontonians who are priced out of the open market.

Who We Serve

The priced out
Majority.

Everground exists for Edmontonians who are perpetually priced out — not poor enough for subsidized housing, not wealthy enough for the open market.

Indigenous families and community members
Essential workers and newcomers
Young families starting their legacy
Households earning 30–80% of median income
